Rosemary Claudette Balfour, 93, formerly of Galveston, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016, in McKinney, TX. She was born in Galveston on January 2, 1923, to Rose Collerain Smith and John Arthur Smith. Rosemary graduated from Dominican High School in 1940 and retired from American National Insurance Company in March 1985 as manager of Ordinary Agency group. She married Louis Hardin in August 1941, and after his death in World War II, Rosemary married William Thomas Balfour in August 1945. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Balfour Sr., and son, William Thomas Balfour, Jr., Rosemary is survived by her son, Richard Balfour, and wife, Rosi; grandchildren, Brandi Ellis, Shannon Dean, Matt Balfour, and Adrianne Balfour Huertas; daughter-in-law, Susie Balfour; nieces and nephews: Carol Randall, Patricia Ray Ousley and John Collison; and six great grandchildren.
Rosemary’s family will receive visitors beginning at 5:00 pm, Thursday, April 7th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A rosary will begin at 6:30 pm.
Funeral Mass will be 10:00 am, Friday, April 8th, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with burial following at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
