Ruben Estrada Sr., 63, of Galveston passed away Monday, July 15, 2013, at Gulf Health Care Center.

Mr. Estrada was born November 12, 1949 and was a lifelong resident of Galveston. He worked as a welder and was a member of the Boilermakers Union Local 132. Mr. Estrada was a beloved father of three who loved fishing, playing pool, camping and bowling, as well as rooting for his favorite teams: the Astros, Rangers, and Houston Rockets. He was also a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fortunato Estrada; his mother, Julia Estrada; and his brother, Santos Estrada.

Mr. Estrada is survived by his wife, Frances Estrada; sons Ruben Estrada Jr. and Jay and Cecilia Estrada; his daughter and son-in-law, Diana Estrada-Perez and Bino Perez; his beloved grandchildren: Michelle Castaneda, Brissa, Aaron and Brandon Perez; his great grandchildren: Aden, Bella, Angelina and Aaliyah; brothers: Delfino and Louisa Estrada, Pico Estrada, Joe and Jackie Estrada; sisters: Maria and Ezequiel Cisneros and Margaret Estrada; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and out-laws.

Ruben’s family will receive visitors beginning at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 20th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 12:00 noon at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the wonderful staff at Gulf Health Care and Hospice Care Team of Texas City.
