Teofilo Bello Rabelas, 79, of Galveston, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2010, at Bay Oaks Health Care Center in Texas City.
Teofilo was born July 22, 1930, in Calawag, Quezon, the Philippines. He worked with the Galveston County Sherriff’s Department in the I.D. Division for several years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Knights of Columbus #787, and the Sherriff’s Association. Teofilo enjoyed gambling and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Protacio and Peregrina Bello Rabelas; wife, Helen Rafael Rabelas; and siblings: Celedonia Rabelas Flores, Manuel Rabelas, Doming Rabelas, Theresa Rabelas, and Soleda Rabelas.
Teofilo is survived by his son, Steve Rafael Rabelas; daughter, Marianne Geren Rabelas and Gene Nathan Powell; and Philyn Mabel Rabelas and Matthew Alan Powell; grandchildren: Erika Renee Gambill, Christopher Daniel Welch, Skyler Kai Rabelas, Morgan David Rabelas Welch, Brian Phillip Rabelas Welch, Gavin Noah Rabelas Powell, and Chloe Helen Rabelas Powell; sisters, Amparo Rabelas Rodriguez and Antonia Rabelas; niece, Rory Sutcliffe; and numerous other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Hasselmeier, Toy West, Troy Rodriguez, Alex Alcocer, Miles Rodriguez, Mike Aguilar, Mario Aguilar, and Tony Calapan.
