Thomas Ray Kupsa, 88, of Galveston died October 5, 2011 in Alvin, Texas. He was born on April 15, 1923 to John and Mary Kupsa. Thomas was in the 767th Field Artillery in the United States Army during World War II and served in France. He retired from the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. Thomas was a member of VFW Post 880.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Kupsa; his brothers, Henry and Marvin Kupsa; and his sister, Mary Ohlund. He is survived by his nephews, John Kupsa and wife, Mona; Henry Kupsa, Jr., and wife, Pat; niece, Edna Ann Hunter and husband, Charles; great-nephew, Thomas Autrey and wife, Wendy; great-niece, Carole Autrey and fiancé, Jim; great, great-nephew, Jay Garcia; and great, great-nieces, Kristen and Paige Autrey.
Visitation will be Sunday, October 9 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Monday, October 10, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Malloy & Son Funeral Home with Reverend Rick Benson officiating. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Thomas Autrey, John Kupsa, Braden Burch, James Burch, Jay Garcia and Kristen Autrey.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Laurel Court for the exceptional care they gave Thomas during his illness.
