Ursula Mae Clark, 82, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014 at her home. Ursula was born in Galveston on April 18, 1931 and lived her whole life on the island. Ursula was preceded in death by her parents, Lula and Thomas Clark, Sr.; her sister, Helen Darlington; and her brother, Thomas John Clark, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Mable Clark Milliet of Groves, TX, nephews, William Darlington, Jr. of Houston; James Darlington of Nacogdoches; Mark Milliet of Dallas; and Matthew Milliet of Georgetown, TX; nieces, Martha Lou Seighman of Washington, N.C.; Margie Eglsaer of Huntsville, TX; and Millie Schaer of Blessing, TX; family friend, Lalo Ojeda, of Galveston, TX; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
Ursula was a 1948 graduate of Ursuline Academy. She worked for many years at the courthouse in the county engineer’s office. Then she worked for International Creosote before going into the Justice of the Peace office where she retired in 1996. Ursula was a member of the Legion of Mary and Catholic Daughters of St. Mary’s. Ursula lived a full and peaceful life and was blessed with many friends who will miss her sense of humor and cheerful outlook. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 18th, at St. Patrick Catholic Church at 5:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be on Wednesday, March 19th, at St. Patrick Catholic Church at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at the Old Catholic Cemetery on Broadway.
