Vincent Anthony Maceo, Jr., 74, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017, where he was placed safely into the arms of Jesus Christ. He was born October 5, 1942, to Vincent and Estelle Voigt Maceo, who preceded him in death. Vincent was a kind man who found good in most everyone. He graduated from Roswell High School in Roswell, NM, and attended The University of Texas in Austin at the age of 16. He also attended TCU in Dallas. Vincent was a member of the Galveston Art League, where he displayed beach art. He had a love of the ocean – snorkeling, scuba diving, and sailing. Vincent was an advocate of water safety for all, especially children.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Beverly; his stepmother, Mitzi Maceo; godmother, Concetta Arena; daughter, Marlina Hoggatt and husband, Andy; son, Vincent Maceo, III; their mother, Sharon Martin; stepchildren: Capt. Jim Marler and wife, Lina, Regina Kyle and husband, Col. Sam Kyle; sister, Katherine Williams; sister-in-law, Margaret Young and husband, Charles; grandchildren: Luke and Katie Hoggatt, Will and Nathan Kyle, Caroline and Claire Marler; a niece, Kathlyn Williams; numerous other family members and friends; and his cherished dogs, Amy and Keegan.
Vincent’s family will receive visitors beginning at 6:00 pm, Monday, February 20, 2017, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, Vincent’s family request that memorials be made to the Vincent Maceo Memorial Fund at any location of Texas First Bank, so that a permanent memorial can be built on the island he loved so much.
