Bill loved his parish and served as an usher there. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Chapter 12748. Bill had a great devotion to the Mother of God and prayed the Rosary daily. He was an Altar Server at Sacred Heart Parish in Galveston, where he attended elementary school. He served daily Mass there, and was the “go to Altar Boy” for parish funerals. In his younger years, Bill was an avid surfer and often rode with the Galveston Beach Patrol in their rescues and recoveries. He played football and baseball at O’Connell High School, graduating in 1973. He also played baseball in the city leagues. He was a loyal Astro fan and often worked out with them when he first moved to Houston. He was so happy when Craig Biggio made the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Bill enjoyed all types of music and loved going to the concerts of his favorite bands and singers. He always remembered his family’s and friends’ birthdays and holidays with cards, phone calls, and nice gifts. Bill was so proud of his daughter graduating from nursing school and working in a field that she liked. He loved his grandson, Jacob, and was happy that he was in high school and doing so well. Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
