William J. Reagan, 95, of Galveston, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2013, in La Marque. He is at rest with the Lord. William was born February 13, 1918 in Galveston to Rita and Robert Reagan, Sr. He served in the US Navy during World War II, receiving a medical discharge due to injury. He then joined the Merchant Marines, where he served on Liberty Ships during World War II. William then worked for G & H Towing and retired in 1983 from 17 years of service with TXDOT at the Galveston Ferry Landing, where he served as Chief Engineer. He was a member of the American Legion Post 47 and Bible Baptist Church.
William was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Wanda Reagan; and son, Billy Reagan.
He is survived by his daughter, Barbara; sister-in-law, Betty Cornitius and husband, Russell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
William’s family will receive visitors from 5:00 until 7:00 pm, Tuesday, November 12th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 13th, at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock with Rev. Andrew W. G. Matthews officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
