William “Windy” Oscar Greb, Jr., 95, of Port Bolivar, died Sunday, November 5, 2017. He was born on October 24, 1922, in Galveston, to Ester Isobel Clark Greb and William Oscar Greb, Sr., and was a United States Navy veteran, having served in World War II.
William is survived by his wife, Mary Greb, of Port Bolivar; sons, William Oscar Greb III and his wife, Linda, of Beach City; and Robert Greb and his wife, Lauren Morgan, of Stowell; daughter, Laurie Payton and her husband, Ben, of Stowell; seven grandchildren, Crystal Alvarez and her husband, Moses; William O. Greb IV and his wife, Ashley; Virginia Greb; Shane Greb; Michael Greb; Jessica Mouton and her husband, Eric; Eric Payton and his fiancé, Caroline; great-grandchildren, Emma Alvarez, Maddox Mouton, Cory Mouton, Payton Mouton, and soon-to-be Ansleigh; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Jessica Kirkendall and her husband, Kirk.
A gathering of Mr. Greb’s family and friends will be 5:00 pm until 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Malloy Funeral Home, 3028 Broadway Avenue J, Galveston. A gathering will begin 10:00 a.m. with a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 9, 2017, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. A private family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
