Obituary

William Robert Newkirk, 62, passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2013. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Eleanor Newkirk; and brother, Alvin Newkirk, Jr. Bill is survived by his wife, Katherine “LeLe” Newkirk; sister, Eleanor Simpton and husband, Jerry; brother, Frank Newkirk and wife, Nancy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was born December 14, 1950 and was a graduate of Ball High School in Galveston, Texas. He served in the US Air Force Reserve and was a commercial contractor in the Galveston-Houston area. He enjoyed fishing and golfing. Bill was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church in Houston, Texas.

Bill’s family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 am, Thursday, February 28th, at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 1727 Hartsook Street, Houston, TX 77034. A Mass of Resurrection will begin at 11:00 am, celebrated by Father Frank Fabj, brother-in-law of the deceased.

Pallbearers will be David Michael Hayes, Ashton Martini, Craig Newkirk, Kevin Newkirk, Gregory Newkirk, and Jack Kaiser.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church or The Seton Foundation of Education, 1727 Hartsook Street, Houston, TX 77034.

A private burial will be held at a later date.

I was grandma Newkirks first non family child she watched. My mother Betty Joyce Huskey Davis went to school with Alvin. My father coached all the boys in baseball one time are another. She even watched my daughter when she was a young child. I was looking up your brother and saw this. We had know idea Billy passed away. Our prayers and thoughts our with you Lele. Please let Frank and Sissy know also. They were my extened family growning up. Love to all and my prayers our with you all. Stephaine
