Our beloved Yadhira “Yadi” Hernandez-Blair of Galveston passed from this earth on May 18th, 2016, at the age of 36. Born on January 25th, 1980 to mother Hortencia Santibañez Valerio and father Andres Hernandez in Acapulco, Yadi went to high school in Mexico and moved to the US shortly after her graduation.
The birth of her daughter Desiree Manzano on March 17, 2004 was a defining moment in her life, and she proved to be a loving and devoted mother who deeply enjoyed spending time with her only child. She met her future husband, Zach Blair, while working alongside her family members at the Sunflower Bakery and Café. After falling deeply in love, Yadi and Zach were married on February 17, 2016. They spent three blissful months as husband and wife before she passed. Yadi, Zach, and Desiree loved to spend time together at the beach or in the backyard with their six month old golden retriever, Taki, and their Shitzu, Manchas. They also loved to play with their two cats Fred and Atticus.
Yadi is preceded in death by her father, Andres Hernandez. She is survived by her daughter, Desiree, husband Zach, brothers Andres Hernandez, Jose Luis Hernandez, and Carlos Hernandez, mother Hortencia Santibañez Valerio, mother-in-law Lisa Blair, father-in-law Harry Blair, and sisters-in-law Maddie Blair, Samantha Blair, and Rachel Leichssenring.
Yadi was an extraordinary woman who always had a smile on her face and a kind word for those around her. Words cannot express how deeply she will be missed by those who loved and cherished her.
