Yolanda was born July 26th, 1946 on Galveston Island and attended Ball High School. Yolanda felt very blessed to be a B.O.I. She loved Galveston! Lots of mornings she enjoyed watching the sunrise and in the evenings the sunset. Yolanda never met a stranger; everywhere she went she made friends. She absolutely loved the Brown Pelicans that glided along the wave. She said they looked so peaceful. She found beauty in everything and everyone; she looked at everyone equally. Yolanda was a blessing to many and was always willing to give a helping hand. She enjoyed serving the Lord and was an active member of Lakewood Church. She was employed many years as a home healthcare provider. Yolanda will be missed dearly by her family and friends.
Yolanda was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Vitela and Rose Saman-Vitela; her sisters, Dolores Ante and Bertha Vargas; lifelong friend, Daniel Moran Jr.; and grandchild, Harmony Rose Paez.
She is survived by her sons, Mark Paez and wife, Crystal; and Kevin Paez; sisters, Irma Gaskill and Lydia Patlan; and her grandchildren, Erica Paez, Katherine Paez, Miranda Paez and many nieces and nephews and her beloved, “Babycat.”
