Yolanda Gloria Moran, 66, of Galveston Island went to be with the Lord on December 6th 2012.

Her family will receive visitors at 5:00 p.m., Monday, December 10th, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 6:30 pm, led by Pastor Rudy Soto with a reception celebrating Yoli’s life to follow at the funeral home. Per her wishes, Yolanda will be cremated.

Yolanda was born July 26th, 1946 on Galveston Island and attended Ball High School. Yolanda felt very blessed to be a B.O.I. She loved Galveston! Lots of mornings she enjoyed watching the sunrise and in the evenings the sunset. Yolanda never met a stranger; everywhere she went she made friends. She absolutely loved the Brown Pelicans that glided along the wave. She said they looked so peaceful. She found beauty in everything and everyone; she looked at everyone equally. Yolanda was a blessing to many and was always willing to give a helping hand. She enjoyed serving the Lord and was an active member of Lakewood Church. She was employed many years as a home healthcare provider. Yolanda will be missed dearly by her family and friends.

Yolanda was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph Vitela and Rose Saman-Vitela; her sisters, Dolores Ante and Bertha Vargas; lifelong friend, Daniel Moran Jr.; and grandchild, Harmony Rose Paez.

She is survived by her sons, Mark Paez and wife, Crystal; and Kevin Paez; sisters, Irma Gaskill and Lydia Patlan; and her grandchildren, Erica Paez, Katherine Paez, Miranda Paez and many nieces and nephews and her beloved, “Babycat.”

I'm so sad to hear of Yolanda passing. My deepest sympathy to all of her family. I only knew her for a short 11 years but I loved her dearly.
